Cobbler

This cobbler was made from berries picked right here on Oak's Knob !!!

Big Doin's on Oak's Knob

Fourth of July!!! Here are some pics of our Independence Day Celebration at the community center.  There wasn't enough money to do fireworks this year so two of our board members,  Bell Stewart and Johnny Lowe, donated enough to get some great fireworks.  I thought they were pretty good for a small community, but I guess people complained because there was too much time in between each one.  Oh well. This was the first year we had someone who was licensed.  I guess having a license doesn't mean everything.
I didn't try to take pics of the fireworks, but I wish I had.  Here's what we did get !!  (Comments are below the pics.)

This one was taken from where I was sitting.  We all had to turn around to see the fireworks;  but we were all watching the entertainment.

This is our VP Gregg Livengood setting up the sound.

Singing cowboy music.

This cement slab was poured last year for dancing.  The kids loved it !!!

This little girls was so cute.  she was also shy and didn't know what to do so she sat down.
The kids were great entertainment for me :)

Two of our leading citizens:  On the left is Charlie Teague (our Community Center Pres.) and on the right is James Ferguson.

I'm not sure if this guy fell or if he was relaxing this way :)

While all of this was going on outside, burgers, potato salad, coleslaw, etc. was being served inside.  Brenda and Bernard Ferguson.

This is Juanita...she makes a lot of the food served at the community center.

Bell was taking money at the door and passing out questionnaires.

We also had a tent set up outside with a vendor selling chips, etc and funnel cake!!
